Ashley Hanson has been painting professionally for over thirty years since graduating from Canterbury College of Art in 1983. His intensely-coloured oils, inspired by the harbour towns of Cornwall and his journeys around the US, inhabit the space between abstraction and figuration, with their distinctive signature of multi-viewpoints and imagery side by side.
Ashley has an extensive national exhibition record and his work has been selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the National Open Art Exhibition and The Discerning Eye. He won Second prize in the Hunting Art Prize and was awarded a Boise Travel Scholarship from the Slade School of Art. Ashley is a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists.
Christopher Salmon - is a talented artist, working in etching, drawing, painting and even a music career in the late 80s. Starting of in Birmingham, England Chris studied at Bourneville College for his Foundation and was taught to etch by Ted Allen. Taking these skills he went on to complete a BA(hons) in Fine Art at Canterbury Art College in 1982.
Having enjoyed success with his band Stump he continued with art in 1992 and completed a part-time MA with distinction in Printmaking at Camberwell Art College in 1994 and has been producing artwork ever since, amassing a large body of work along the way.
After leaving Canterbury in 82 Chris went on to accidently start WAZHEAD and created a range of novelty hats. These were worn by numerous public figures includeing Bernard Levin, Vivienne Westwood (pictured right), Elton John and Steve Wright amongst others. They were lastly featured on the cover of The Sunday Times in 1989 under the title 'Dumping The 80's' which included all the 'crap from the 80s', and since haven't been revived!
